Information about the Applicant

 

Stanisław Staszic State University of Applied Sciences in Piła is the largest public university in northern Wielkopolska. Since 2000, the University has been educating specialists in practical fields of economics, humanities, technology and medicine. It offers bachelor’s, engineering and master’s degree courses, responding to dynamic changes in the economy. The study programme also includes internships lasting several months. This enables the PUSS students to gain professional experience in the labour market. Wide cooperation of the University with domestic and international business contributed to the launch of dual studies. The studies of this type involve partnerships with several dozen renowned international corporations. The cooperation also involves business environment institutions, local governments, non-profit organisations.

The University conducts extensive international cooperation as one of the key strategic areas of internationalisation of the education process. Permanent contacts in the scope of student and staff exchange as well as scientific research are maintained with universities in Spain, Italy, Romania, Czech Republic, Serbia, Turkey, Slovakia, Lithuania and Ukraine. The best result in terms of gaining funds under Erasmus+ grants among all higher state vocational schools in Poland proves the wide scale of international cooperation. The organisational and scientific potential is evidenced by past experience in the implementation of grants. These include: Operational Programme Human Capital “Start to Career”, increasing the chances of students and graduates of the University to take up employment; Operational Programme Human Capital “Academy of Entrepreneurship”, created to develop and promote self-employment among unemployed people from the districts of Piła and Złotów; Operational Programme Knowledge Education Development “Time for Change”, supporting students of the University in the field of professional activity; Operational Programme Knowledge Education Development “Competence Incubator”, financing training in English language learning for PUSS researchers. Also to be mentioned are the National Science Centre’s Opus13 grant “Effectiveness of financing environmental public goods: multi-level analyses of rural areas in Poland against the background of European Union countries”, being implemented in 2018-2021, and the National Agency for Academic Exchange – Academic International Partnerships research project “The role of small farms in the sustainable development of agri-food sector in the countries of Central and Eastern Europe”, being implemented in 2019-2021.
